Members are then encouraged to add, edit, remix and collaborate with each other. HitRECord currently has over 45,000 active members worldwide. The book, priced at $19.99 and 64 pages long, was only available for sale through hitRECord.org and sold out its 1,000 copy initial print run in less than two weeks with no marketing or publicity support. This edition has now sold 2,500 copies and continues to sell.
