The American Friends of France, Inc.

The American Friends of France, Inc. was established in 1917 by Anne Morgan. Dependent wholly upon voluntary contributions, the committee was active throughout the two world wars, working in France through both rehabilitation periods. After World War I, the committee organized the first rural nursing service in France modeled after American methods and a nursing school in Paris. Its six centers staffed with public health nurses and social service workers provided medical care and aid to more than 60,000 people. This book was part of en effort to raise funds for the organization.
