Jay Ingram

Renowned science broadcaster and writer Jay Ingram is co-host and producer of the Discovery Channel’s award-winning show Daily Planet, television’s first daily science news magazine. For more than ten years he was host of CBC Radio’s science program Quirks and Quarks, for which he earned two ACTRA Awards, including one for Best Host. He has been awarded the Sandford Fleming Medal from the Royal Canadian Institute for his work in popularizing science and the McNeil Medal for the Public Awareness of Science, the Michael Smith Award for Science Promotion, and honorary doctorates from Carleton, McMaster, and McGill universities. He is the author of the bestsellers The Science of Everyday Life, The Barmaid’s Brain, and The Velocity of Honey, as well as the children’s book A Kid’s Guide to the Brain, and writes a weekly science column for the Toronto Star.
